Civil Documents

In order to register a Marriage, child Birth and Divorce in the Consular office, the required documents are mentioned below.

     Registration of Marriage

  • -         Complete a form.
  • -         Marriage Certificate + true copy issued by the authority that performed the ceremony, both legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nicosia.
  • -         2 photocopies of passports.
  • -         2 photocopies of Individual Civil Status (Ekhraj Kayd Ifrady) not more than 3 months old (For Lebanese citizens)
  • -         For divorcees, 2 photocopies of the Divorce Certificate issued by the Lebanese Government.
  • 2 photocopies of a detailed Birth certificate (in English, French or Arabic) showing maiden name of the mother (for non Lebanese).

     Registering A Child Procedure

  •    Complete a form
  •       Original  Birth Certificate  issued  by the  local competent  authorities and legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nicosia.
  •      2 photocopies of parents' passports.
  •    Parents' Marriage Certificate + 2 photocopies, or Family Civil Status (Ekhraj Kayd Aaeli) = 2 photocopies.


 

Registering A Divorce

 

  • -         Divorce Certificate along with a  true copy issued by the court, translated to Arabic.  Both (Greek and Arabic versions) legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs inNicosia and  2 photocopies.
  • -         2 photocopies of passports.
  • -         2 photocopies of Individual and Family Civil Status (Ekhraj Kayd Ifradi wa Aaely).
  • -         2 photocopies of the Marriage Certificate issued by the Lebanese Government (Wassikat Zawaj).

        Registration of Death

  • -         Complete a form
  • -         2 original or 2 true copies of the Death Certificate issued  by the competent local authorities legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nicosia.
  • -         Passport of the deceased.
  • -         Family Civil Status (Ekhraj Kayd Aaely)
  •     Power of Attorney Issued by the Embassy

       A copy of the passport and/or ID of the person giving the Power of Attorney, as well as the two witnesses should be sent in advance to the Embassy
